  GOOGLE MAPS PLEASE CORRECT. THIS REVIEW IS NOT FOR THE CHRISTMAS TREE SHOP!! REVIEW IS FOR A RESTAURANT CALLED 1921 VAN AKEN,MT DORA Beautiful restaurant and good wait staff but Highly overpriced small portions . We were a party of ten and Dont go if your super hungry unless you have money to burn. Oyster 3 on a plate x 3 plates $9 plate. Watery and tastless. $15 cheese plate was only enough for maybe two people but had it listed on the enough to share section. Lol it had four pieces of cheese, and two tsp of jelly and a few smasll nuts. no garnish ,no bread, no crackers. Conch fritters about 6 of them at $8 were small and to sweet and you couldn't taste the conch at all. We ordered a salad but all it had was small micrograms on it ,no tamato but the dressing was ok$12. The hamburger was ordered medium well but came to table medium rare for $19, and only came with a small portion of fries. No garnish. The pork shop was $35 and barely warm and overcooked with no seasonings and bland red beans and no garnish. The pewney little tiny 6oz Australian Wagu Ribeye steak was a joke at $42. Rediculous! No sides ,no garnish. The crab curry w shrimp was ok at $24 but small portion with three shrimp ,no crab at all ,just the curry crab taste in sauce with small portion of rice. The scallops were ok but small portion only three scallops and a few shrimp dumplings $35. We were there for my step brothers Birthday ,had a reservation for eight snd they printed the menus with my step brothers name on them which was nice but Never!! Not even once addressed that it was his Birthday and never offered dessert or anything else to him. So sad!! It was Very disappointing that the manager when notified told us that we should have told them sooner of the issues so we could wait another 45 min to get the food replaced that should have been cooked perfectly to begin with and said to my father you ordered a 6oz steak and that's what you got.and only after all the frustration we endured he only took the pork chop off the bill. Mind you our bill was over $500.00. Shame on them!! I felt awful hearing how unprofessional the manager tone was to my 85 yr old father. What a shame that the owner has so much overhead and fancy fixtures, seating ,bar ,glass chandeliers, curtains, art, etc that it warrants those prices for such small tastless meals. Needless to say we were all still hungry and went to McDonald's on the way home. We wanted to enjoy a beautiful meal and evening in Mt Dora. Terrible way to start out!! We cant recommend this restaurant and We will NEVER return!
